Dog to Dog Socialization

We have dogs in our care who need daily socialization with other dogs. We also have dogs in our care who would like socialization with other dogs but don’t require it daily, others who are tolerant of other dogs but don’t absolutely need socialization with other dogs to thrive and be happy and others who want nothing to do with other dogs.

Please note: we rarely have small dogs in our care. The smallest dog we typically have is 30-35 lb. When we DO get smaller dogs, they are almost always beagles or beagle mixes. We never have small breed dogs such as chihuahuas, pomeranians, shih tzus, maltese, etc.

Please note: we do not get puppies. The youngest dog in our care on average is 1 year old. We will sometimes have dogs who are around 8-10 months or so. But the majority of the time, 1 year old is the youngest dog you will meet at our shelter.

Should I decide to adopt my foster dog, I will fill out an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee agreed upon by Lighthouse Animal Shelter. By signing this agreement, I agree to contact a Lighthouse Animal Shelter board member before seeking any medical treatment for my foster dog. *
