Duncan is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how someone could possibly have lived without him. This handsome 6–8-year-old, 60–65-pound Hound mix is an absolutely wonderful, laid-back companion who is happiest when he’s simply hanging out with his people.
Duncan has spent the past year in a foster home and has continued to show what a special guy he is. He is dog friendly and seems to be friendly with cats, too. He comes running when you call him—even if he’s busy doing something else—and he loves nothing more than settling onto the couch for some quality relaxation. If you’re looking for a sleeping buddy, Duncan would be happy to snuggle up next to you on the bed, too!
He is housebroken, knows how to use a doggie door, and loves having a big yard where he can sniff, explore, and stretch his legs. He has also made great progress on leash. He used to pull quite a bit, but he has learned quickly and now walks nicely with some simple reminders. Duncan is a very intelligent boy who catches on quickly.
Once evening rolls around, Duncan is pretty happy to call it a night. He’d much rather be curled up in his plush bed or beside his person than heading back outside for another adventure. Like many dogs, thunderstorms and fireworks can make Duncan nervous. He doesn’t panic—instead, he just wants to stay close to his person and feel safe.
Duncan is a snuggler, a couch companion, a yard explorer, and an all-around good boy. He has so much to offer the family lucky enough to bring him home. If you’re looking for a relaxed, affectionate companion who is happiest by your side, Duncan just might be your guy.
