Looking for a pup who’s equal parts silly, snuggly, and smart? Meet Becca, the goofy sweetheart who’s just waiting for her forever family to come scoop her up!
Becca is all about the food—in fact, her motto is “food first, potty later.” 😄 This girl is super food motivated, which makes training a breeze. She already knows how to win hearts, and she’s eager to learn more if treats are involved!
Though she’s been sheltered for most of her life and can be a little shy on leash, Becca is so ready to break out of her shell. She just needs a loving home to help her explore the world outside the shelter—parks, backyards, your couch (especially your couch).
She’s a dog-friendly gal who loves to play rough-and-tumble style with her canine pals, so another playful pup would be a bonus! When it comes to people, Becca is a total lovebug. She might be a bit bashful at first, but give her a few minutes and she’ll be in your lap, snuggling like you’re lifelong besties.
Becca’s got a heart of gold, a head tilt that’ll melt you, and the silliest play style you’ve ever seen. She’s also incredibly smart, not barky, and always wants to please.
So if you’re looking for a goofy, cuddly, whip-smart companion who just needs a chance to shine—Becca is your girl. Come meet her and let her charm you with that legendary head tilt. 💕

Berry’s journey hasn’t been easy, but she’s ready to find the loving home she truly deserves. She came to the shelter with two other dogs after her previous owners could no longer care for them. Sadly, she had been neglected for quite some time, arriving with severe skin issues, hair loss, and heartworm. But despite it all, Berry’s spirit remained unbroken—she is a true survivor!
Berry has been given a second chance and blossomed in foster care, and at our shelter. She’s a confident, playful girl with a big personality. She loves running in a fenced yard, going for walks, and snuggling up with her humans. Fully potty- and crate-trained, Berry is a polite houseguest who only barks to alert you of visitors. She adores meeting new people and is eager to continue learning in preparation for her forever home.
Berry has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations, has had treatment for heartworm and is undergoing treatment for skin recovery. She has striking black fur, warm brown eyes, and a heart full of love to share. She’s ready for adoption—could you be the one to give Berry the home she’s been waiting for?

If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky pup who brings the sunshine wherever he goes—Cenzo’s your guy! ☀️ This goofy doofus is the life of the paw-ty, with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. He’s the more easygoing brother of Wally, and together they’re a dynamic duo of affection, cuddles, and pure joy.
Cenzo gets along with everyone he meets—humans and dogs alike! He’s affectionate, craves attention (in the most charming way), and is always ready to be your adventure buddy. He’s working on his leash manners and house training like a champ, and he’s non-reactive to other dogs in his crate—what a good boy!
Cenzo would thrive in an active home where he can run, play, and soak up all the love he deserves. If you’re ready to laugh daily, snuggle nightly, and have a best friend for life, Cenzo is ready to meet you!

Cole is looking for his next new best pal! He has a fun energy level and seems to feed off of whatever the human he is with wants to do. Want to play? He will play. Want to bring him in? He will go right inside. Want to cuddle? He will plop right in your lap for all the lovin’ he can soak in!
Cole would make a great companion for someone looking for a copilot for all their adventures but wanting a snuggle buddy at night.
We assume this boy is house-trained as we’ve never had to clean up after him and he also does very well in a crate! Even though he has the biggest, goofiest personality, Cole is quiet all day unless he can hear that his favorite dog walker is at the shelter!
Cole loves every human that he meets but would be a little too much energy for small kiddos. He can be jumpy when he’s excited to see his people.

Cole is dog selective - he has successfully been on walks with other dogs after a slow introduction.

Ellen is a lively and energetic young pup ready to find her forever home! With her bouncy spirit and playful nature, she’s the perfect candidate for an adventure buddy or even an agility partner—this girl has serious potential! She is super affectionate, loves being around people, and getting loved on in return.
Ellen has made a few furry friends at the shelter and does well with other dogs who match her energy level. After some fun in the play yard, she’s great about settling into her crate. She has made progress with her potty training, but she is still learning. Although she has some accidents, she is too cute for our volunteers to be upset for too long!
Her ideal family will be ready to continue her basic obedience training and give her plenty of outlets for her puppy-like energy. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion with a heart full of joy, Ellen is the one for you!

Are you looking for a loyal, loving sidekick who’s always ready for cuddles and companionship? Introducing Gypsy, the petite hound with a heart as big as her personality!
Gypsy is a social butterfly who gets along fabulously with other dogs—she came from a foster home full of hound friends, so she knows how to be part of the pack. While she may be a hound, she’s not the loud type—just a sweet, affectionate girl who adores human attention. She’ll even give you a gentle little hop to remind you she’s ready for love (and maybe a treat or two)!
With her friendly nature, Gypsy would be a great fit for a home with older kids who can keep up with her playful yet gentle energy. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or exploring the great outdoors, she’s always up for an adventure—as long as she gets her fair share of ear scratches along the way!

Looking for a four-legged friend who’s equal parts handsome hound and lovable goofball? Say hello to Koolaid – a young, dashing dude with a heart of gold and a tail that never stops wagging!
This sweet, silly boy has a sparkle in his eye and a playful bounce in his step. He loves people and makes fast friends with other dogs – he’s the kind of pup who turns every walk into a meet-and-greet (and trust us, everyone wants to meet him).
Koolaid is still learning the ropes when it comes to leash manners – he’s just so excited to explore the world! But don’t worry, he’s not reactive at all – just full of enthusiasm and curiosity. With a little polish, he’s going to be the best walking buddy ever.
He’s got that hound charm, soulful eyes that’ll melt your heart, and a goofy side that’ll make you laugh every single day. If you’re looking for a happy, friendly, and downright adorable pup to add some joy to your life, Koolaid might just be your perfect match.

Larissa has come a long way since she first arrived at Lighthouse! She was initially timid and insecure but with some time to adjust to her new surroundings, she has really come out of her shell and adores our volunteers.
She has a medium energy level so she loves to be active out in the play yard but also enjoys lounging around for some one-on-one attention.
One of our volunteers who has a soft spot for Larissa took her home for a day away from the shelter. Larissa enjoyed romping around the yard with the volunteer’s dog and was well-behaved and quiet in her home.
Her forever family should keep her initial insecurities in mind but also recognize that with some confidence boosting, Larissa is full of sweet potential. She is a smart girl and food-motivated so confidence building should be a breeze and a wonderful bonding opportunity for Larissa and her forever family.

Lou is ready to find his forever home — and your couch! This sweet, smart boy is eager to please and has a heart full of love. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a minute (and maybe a treat), and you’ll have a loyal best friend for life.
He’s already proven his brilliance by learning “sit” in just one day! Lou’s the perfect balance of energy — playful and adventurous outside, but calm and cuddly inside. His favorite outdoor activities include sunbathing like he’s on vacation and playing with his toys. Inside, he’s a pro at snuggling up on his blanket and keeping his people company.
Lou gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids, and cohabitated in a foster home with all of them. While baths aren’t his favorite activity, he handles them (and even nail trims) like a champ. He’s crate-trained, well on his way to being fully house-trained, and only barks when someone gets a little too close to his home — just enough to keep things safe without being noisy. For a young dog, he has excellent house manners, stays out of trouble, and isn’t prone to chewing or getting into things he shouldn’t.
If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and low-maintenance companion with a talent for snuggles and sunshine, Lou is your perfect match.

Lewy is remarkably cute, 🥰 with his upturned nose, & slender build! It’s like he will forever look like a puppy! He prances so sweetly & makes us smile when we see just how lanky his legs are!
Lewy came to us because he & his owner were in the process of moving to Southeastern MA, when his owner fell ill & ended up in the hospital with a terminal illness & had to surrender him to Animal Control. With no family to take Lewy in, Animal Control reached out to area shelters for assistance, and Lighthouse Animal Shelter agreed to take him.
At 6 1/2 yrs. old and having lived in the same home since puppyhood, Lewy is understandably anxious and confused with all the changes in close succession, especially losing his person-the only link to the life he had before their move.
Here’s a bit about Lewy from his current foster home:
“He is doing fantastic. He has everything he needs here, and I even went and got him his own bed.”
Lewy gets along with his foster doggy siblings great, as well! He’s even a bit of a local celebrity on his neighborhood walks!
He did have some potty accidents inside, and chewed some things up while his foster parents weren’t home, so Lewy’s foster dad created a separate, comfortable kennel area for him to start helping him potty train, and adjust to a home setting.
We can’t wait to see Lewy go to a forever home who is looking for a pupper who will bring them lots of joy! We know he has some more work to do on potty training and being home alone, but we will be there with his future adopter to help along the way to provide guidance and support!

Marshall is an overgrown 8-month-old puppy with the most beautiful, striking markings you’ve ever seen. He’s already 58 pounds and still growing—likely to be around 65-70 pounds when fully grown. This sweet boy has had a rough start in life, but despite it all, he’s ready to find a family to love him.
Marshall was found at an abandoned trailer when he was about three months old, along with his brother, who later disappeared. The people who had been feeding him and the other dog decided to place him in a 10×10 kennel to keep him from getting lost or killed by a predator. He remained in the kennel for about three months, receiving food but little else, until he was taken to a foster home.
He moved into his foster home at around 6 months old, where he received more attention but still didn’t experience the comforts of a real home. He was still out in a kennel with other dogs, but not in a home environment. Now, at Lighthouse Animal Shelter, he’s making incredible progress and showing just how special he is!
Marshall loves other dogs and thrives in their company. He’s playful, energetic, and eager to learn. While he’s still a bit mouthy when he plays—typical puppy behavior—he responds well to corrections and guidance. He’s fairly well crate-trained but could use a little more consistency. With time, patience, and love, he’ll blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.
Marshall is truly a diamond in the rough—a dog with endless potential who just needs the right person to help him shine. Could that be you? Come meet him and see for yourself—this sweet pup is ready to find his forever home!

Meet Maisie, the snuggliest, sweetest lovebug you’ll ever meet! 💖 This 5-year-old boxer-staffie mix may look like a strong, independent girl, but inside, she’s a total softie who wants nothing more than to be by your side – or, ideally, on your lap! Yep, Maisie is an overgrown lap dog who will happily melt into a big, cuddly puddle as soon as you sit down. If you’re in the market for a furry couch companion, she’s got you covered! 🐾
Maisie’s all about her people and has no problem showing it! She’s the queen of belly rubs, and trust us, she’ll let you know when it’s time for a good scratch. Cuddles? Count her in – Maisie is more of a people-pup than a play-pup, so she’d rather be getting head pats than chasing after a toy. This affectionate girl loves to hang out with her humans and makes sure every cuddle session is top-notch. 🤗💕
On walks, Maisie is a superstar – well, maybe a strong superstar! She’s great on a leash, but she might need a little guidance to keep her enthusiasm in check. She’s got a bit of an oral fixation with people (she’s working on her manners!), but with some patience and practice, she’ll be an even better companion than she already is. She’s eager to please, and with a little guidance, she’ll be the best-behaved cuddle bug in town. 🐕
If you’re looking for a loyal, lap-loving sidekick who’s as sweet as she is snuggly, Maisie might just be your perfect match. Come by Lighthouse Animal Shelter to meet her – she’ll be waiting with her big puppy-dog eyes and that lovable, cuddly heart! 🌟

Monty is a big love bug who thrives on affection! He adores being close to people, always seeking out pets and cuddles from our volunteers. His happy, affectionate personality makes him a joy to be around.
Previously, Monty lived in a home with two other dogs—one male and one female. While he did well in a home setting, there was tension and jealousy between him and the older resident male, leading to several altercations. Because of this, we recommend Monty either be the only dog in his new home or be placed with a compatible female dog. He has done well with female dogs in the past and continues to enjoy their company in our play yard.
Monty has even made a new friend at the shelter—Ellen, who is also available for adoption! He loves a fun game of chase, but his favorite activity is a polite round of tug.
Monty is leash reactive, so he’ll need some training if he’ll be in a high-traffic area. With the right guidance, he’ll be a fantastic companion for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate best friend.
Could Monty be your perfect match? Come meet him and find out!

Opal is a sweet, shy girl with a heart of gold and the kindest soul. While she can be a bit reserved at first, once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll reward you with endless love, cuddles, and loyalty. She truly blossoms around people she knows—and even faster when there’s another dog around!
This beautiful, compelling-looking pup adores other dogs and is incredibly food motivated, which makes her a breeze to work with and a great candidate for continued socialization. She’s already come so far in our care, gaining confidence every day—especially with a doggy friend by her side.
Opal is the total package:
✔️ Quiet and gentle
✔️ Completely housebroken (zero accidents!)
✔️ Doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t
✔️ Zoomie enthusiast (followed by serious nap mode)
✔️ Expert cuddler once she feels safe
She’s looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow and feel secure—ideally with a dog sibling to help show her the ropes. If you’re someone who believes in giving love and watching a soul bloom in return, Opal might just be your perfect match.

- EMERGENCY FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT NEEDED!!
Pongo is a sweet and intelligent soul with a heart full of love and curiosity. After the passing of his previous owners, Pongo originally came to us in need of a second chance a couple years ago. He got adopted fairly quickly from the shelter, but the family who adopted him are moving out of the country, and are unable to keep him. While we’re unsure if he’s a purebred Border Collie, he certainly embodies the classic traits of the breed—smart, energetic, and loyal.
Now weighing in at a healthy 60 lbs after shedding 25 lbs on a successful weight loss journey, Pongo is feeling more like himself again and is ready to find his forever family.
The shelter he came from previously explained that Pongo is friendly with other dogs and has had positive interactions with cats in the past. However, in recent years he has had limited exposure to other dogs and cats, but we are able to test Pongo as needed.
Though he’s older in years, Pongo still has plenty of pep in his step! He’s always up for an adventure, especially if it involves car rides or exploring the outdoors. Just be mindful—true to his breed, he has a strong prey drive and may give chase to wildlife or passing cars. His current foster family is working with him on these behaviors.
He’s lived in a busy home with two full-time working adults and four kids (ages 2–13) and does just fine staying home alone for stretches of up to 8 hours. He’s not one for toys, but his love of food means you’ll want to keep snacks and candy out of reach! Pongo is an affectionate and gentle companion. He hasn’t shown aggression, even around toddlers, though he may give playful nips when excited, which is common for his breed.
Pongo knows basic commands like sit, down, and paw, and he’s working on “stay”—food motivation definitely helps!
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and maybe a little quirky companion who’s ready to write his next chapter with someone special, Pongo just might be your perfect match.

Introducing Peppermint, the delightful and slightly shy sweetheart from Lighthouse Animal Shelter! This active little lady may be a bit of a wallflower compared to her confident sister, Pattie, but she’s ready to step into the spotlight—one wagging tail at a time! Peppermint has shown remarkable strides since arriving at the shelter.
Peppermint is the ultimate cuddle bug, always seeking her safe space (a cozy lap will do nicely). When you walk into a room, you might hear her bark as if she’s saying, “Who goes there?” But don’t let her watchful demeanor fool you; once she knows you’re a friend, she’s all about the snuggles and tail wags!
While her leash manners are still a work in progress, with a little confidence-building and encouragement, she’s on her way to being the star of her very own walking adventures. She loves making new dog friends and has played wonderfully in her previous shelter’s playgroups.
Although she and Pattie are the best of buddies, adopting them together isn’t the best plan. Peppermint will truly shine when she has the chance to blossom on her own. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a gentle spirit and a knack for cuddles, Peppermint is your girl! She’s ready to find her forever home and show you just how much love she has to give.

Ryder isn’t just any dog—she’s a true one-of-a-kind gem. With her stunning, unusual coloring, Ryder turns heads everywhere she goes. But her beauty isn’t just skin-deep—she has a sweet, gentle soul to match.
Ryder is a quiet and graceful girl who’s blossoming more and more every day. She absolutely loves the company of other dogs and truly comes alive when she’s with a confident canine companion. When paired with a dog buddy, her playful side shines, and she becomes more open and interactive with people, too. For that reason, it’s very important that Ryder goes to a home where she’ll have another dog to be her guide and best friend.
She’s a calm, gentle player, and her kind-hearted demeanor makes her a lovely match for another friendly pup. She’s also a polite housemate—Ryder appears to be fully housebroken and has never had an accident at the shelter.
If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful, and truly special girl who thrives with the support of a furry friend, Ryder might just be the missing piece of your pack.

Looking for a sweet, gentle, and absolutely gorgeous pup to complete your family? Meet Sakura, a lovely Labrador mix with a heart of gold and a tail that never stops wagging!
Sakura is the total package – house trained, crate trained at home, great on a leash (with a little excited pulling here and there), and totally ride-or-die when it comes to car rides. She’ll happily hop in and keep you company on all your adventures!
She’s a friendly girl who warms up quickly, especially if there’s a treat involved! Sakura does great with women and kids (she was amazing with a 5-year-old), and while she might be a little cautious with new men at first, she relaxes quickly and loves being part of the action. She’s also done great with other dogs in her foster home and hasn’t shown any reactivity to pups or even horses!
Sakura’s energy level is that sweet spot – she’s ready for walks, playtime, or just chilling by your side while you work on a project. She even hung out calmly at a nursing home!

Sitka is a true survivor with a heart of gold. Rescued from a cruelty case, he came to us painfully thin at just 37 lbs—but despite his tough past, this sweet boy has nothing but love to give! With a little TLC, he’s well on his way to a healthy weight, and now all he needs is a forever family to complete his glow-up.
This fun-loving pup is the perfect mix of playful and chill. He’s great on a leash and loves his walks—though, fair warning, if he’s been holding it in, he might do a little happy dance on the way to his potty spot (hey, we’ve all been there!). Once he’s had his exercise, he’s all about that couch life, ready to lounge and soak up some belly rubs.
Sitka was an absolute dream in his foster home. He listened beautifully and settled right in with medium energy—always up for playtime but just as happy to stretch out on the couch and relax. He got along wonderfully with the other dogs in the household and even shared a yard with goats without paying them any mind. He’s house-trained and figured out the doggy door on his very first day. He’s also crate-trained and can be left for hours, sleeping soundly in his crate every night.
This sweet boy is gentle on a leash, and while his hound nose sometimes kicks in, a simple “leave it” is all it takes to get him back on track. He loves to run when he’s off-leash, but even with that adventurous spirit, he’s never shown any food aggression. And if you sit with him, prepare for all the love—Sitka’s a hugger through and through.
Sitka is friendly, easygoing, and has a goofy, lovable personality that will keep you smiling, whether he’s trotting by your side or flopping over for some well-earned snuggles. He’s been nothing but polite around other dogs!
If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who’s ready to leave his past behind and start fresh with you, Sitka is your guy!

Are you looking for a sweet, shy girl who just needs a little time to bloom? Then Stacy might be your perfect match! This gentle pup may start off a little reserved, but give her some time (and maybe a confident dog buddy), and she transforms into a happy, playful, tail-wagging superstar!
Stacy loves having a canine friend by her side—another pup helps her feel secure and lets her true personality shine. Once she’s comfortable, she’s all smiles, zoomies, and fun! She plays beautifully with other dogs and really thrives in their company, so she’s looking for a home with a built-in furry sibling.
In the house, Stacy is a quiet and polite roommate. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and an all-around easygoing girl. She’s also incredibly sweet and loving once she trusts you—it’s so worth the little bit of patience it takes to earn her heart!
New people and kids can make her nervous, so a calm home with older children (or just adults) would be best. She also might tend to be a little more wary of men at first, but with kindness and time, she’ll learn to trust.
If you have a confident, friendly dog looking for a bestie—and some extra love to give to a pup who truly deserves it—Stacy is waiting to meet you!

Looking for a mellow, affectionate buddy with movie-star looks? Say hello to Wally! With his stunning amber eyes and calm, thoughtful personality, Wally is the quieter, more reserved brother of Cenzo—but don’t let that fool you. Once he feels safe, Wally’s heart opens wide, and you’ll find a loyal, loving pup who soaks up every bit of attention like a pro.
Wally is still working on his leash skills and housebreaking, but he’s making great progress (smart boy alert!). He’s non-reactive in his crate, gets along famously with other dogs, and doesn’t show any prey drive—he’s more interested in sniffing out good vibes on a walk.
He loves playtime, but Wally doesn’t need non-stop action to be happy. A few adventures, a comfy place to nap, and a human or two to love on him? That’s his dream life. 💫

Zoe is a beautiful, sweet girl who is house trained and crate trained. She is super athletic, agile & smart! She loves to be outside playing fetch or going on long walks but settles nicely inside for down time and cuddling.
She is incredibly devoted & loyal to her people. When she sees someone that she loves, her little nub tail doesn’t stop wagging and all she wants to do is for you to say hi to her and welcome her into your lap. Once you have her trust, there is no turning back! She is loyal and will always greet you with a smile on her face.
Zoe was insecure about meeting new people when she first arrived at Lighthouse. She has gotten much more confident with strangers but her forever family should still be considerate and aware of her feelings when she meets someone new.
Training
Zoe has been to professional training so she knows commands such as sit, down, stay, come and also knows some fun ones like how to give a high five. She's a happy girl when she gets to show off her tricks & quickly learns new ones.
Other Dogs
Zoe has made a lot of dog friends at Lighthouse (loves to play chase!) but it's all on her own terms - she appreciates a slow intro and she will let the other dogs know that she is the queen so she plays best with dogs who accept corrections.
Cats
Zoe has lived with a cat before but she does chase. If she were to live with a cat, they would need to be very dog-savvy.
