At 51 lbs and mature adult age, Cedar is a medium to low energy dog who will be perfect for someone who is looking for a leisurely canine companion. If her soulful eyes don’t instantly win you over, her gentle and mellow nature surely will!
Cedar may be the sweetest and quietest hound dog you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. This girl hasn’t made a peep since arriving at the shelter and is an expert in the art of enjoying life’s simple pleasures. After taking care of business in our play yard (she is housebroken), you can catch her engaging in respecftul play sessions with her various friends and then finding a nice, sunny spot to lay down and relax in.
Cedar can likely live in a home with cats, as she showed very little interest in them during her cat test. She loves people and is happy to soak up attention and pets from anyone who is offering. She has done well on walks and in the car with our volunteers, although she may need a boost to get into higher vehicles. She has an old injury in her back leg that never healed properly, and while this doesn’t prevent her from enjoying outings, she appreciates a helping hand sometimes!
She isn’t picky about her ideal home and will simply enjoy what you have to offer – leisurely walks, a yard to relax in, and companionship from her humans. Cedar is a true gem who is ready to come home with you!
