Please note: we do not have kittens in our care. The youngest cat in our care on average is 1 year old. We will sometimes have cats who are around 8-10 months or so. But the majority of the time, 1 year old is the youngest cat you will meet at our shelter.

Lighthouse Animal Shelter works with applicants to select the best match between cat and family, rather than adopting on a first come, first serve basis to increase the likelihood of a successful adoption experience.

The shelter reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any animal.

Our adoption fees are as follows - Kittens up to 6 months: $250. 6 months to 1 year: $200. One year or older: $175. There is a senior discount for cats who are 7 years or older. The fee helps to offset the expenses incurred in the cat’s veterinary care. This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, FeLV testing, and flea/tick preventatives.

Providing false information or withholding information on this application could result in denial for adoption and immediate return of the animal to Lighthouse Animal Shelter.

Check out Hearts4Paws, a local all-volunteer, foster-based cat rescue.
Hearts4Paws generally has cats of all ages in their care (during kitten season – spring through summer).
