Blondie is a 3-year-old, 54-pound Shepherd/Lab mix with a soft heart and a gentle spirit. When she first arrived at Lighthouse Animal Shelter, she came in with very little confidence and was quite timid around people. New faces and new environments were a lot for her at first—but she’s been quietly, steadily learning that the world can be kind.
These days, Blondie is starting to show her true personality. She lights up when she’s with other dogs and truly takes comfort in canine companionship. A confident dog friend would be a huge gift for her—someone to show her the ropes and help her continue building confidence.
She’s making great progress with volunteers and opening up more every day. Her leash skills are also improving as she learns that walks can be fun and not overwhelming.
Blondie is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her continue blooming at her own pace. With time, consistency, and a calm canine buddy, she’s going to make someone an incredibly rewarding companion.
